How long had she sat there... slumped against a tree dead-like? To her it felt like years, but it was only days. She had searched hard and long for her family, who had deceased before she had. A friend had betrayed her... but through her eyes it was her fault. It was her that chose to make friends with that hollow, dispite the warning signs. The hollow had devoured all the spirits in that town, and made them all what she was now, a hollow.

With her eyes now wide open to the true nature of the spiritual world, she knew she was no match for that hollow, who probably had been around a thousand years, or more. She had to get stronger, but how? She was reletively new to the spiritual world, and spent the most of the time in dormant states like she was now. She could not achieve her goals by lying here. She had to move! "Get up... time to wake", she urged herself, attempting to shake off the dormancy that held her here to rot and rust.

Her eyes slowly opened, seeing the environment that she lay in. No forest animals came to greet her, but rather they ran away on instinct due to her spiritual pressure, forcing them away unintentionally. The wind stopped, seemingly refusing to around her. Tears rolled down her face beneath the mask, reminding her of why she went dormant. Life as a hollow for her was lonely. The air became much milder, like the sign of fall's coming. It would seem winter would come early to embrace the Frost family.

A Hollow in the area. Viletta didn't feel like dealing with that today. She had just wanted to go about her daily routine while she was stationed in the world of the living; shopping! Viletta was fond of new outfits, and found an indigo shirt she loved with this one specific pair of faded pants. But she was getting off-track. She couldn't chase her girlish fantasies of purchasing clothes, and oggling at the people in the mall. Jealousy, of the new couples, lust, for the attractive persons she found there. The mall was far better than any movie, and everything in it was more tangible on a different scale entirely. Bah! Her mind was drifting again. Viletta straightened up as she ran from rooftop to rooftop of the town, eventually finding her way to the forest. What would a Hollow be doing all the way out here? It was rather odd, unless they were praying on the last-minute camper's.

Viletta slowed her pace, until she was walking to the Hollow. She drew her zanpaku-to, as she came across the wretched beast. It was just... sitting there? What was this? Then again, she had to stay on her guard. She side-stepped, so she was no longer at its side, but rather was facing it directly. "Hollow, will you allow me to rejuvenate you into something pure? Or will you attempt to resist and cause nothing more but harm on this world?" She barked, authority in her voice. It was obvious this girl was one who was used to getting her way, as if she wasn't going to take no for an answer. She stared with a determined look upon her face at the Hollow, moving to hold her zanpaku-to with both hands.

Something was near... animal? No, animals did not have the spiritual pressure this pressence had. It was.. something she had only heard about from other hollows. So this one was a Shinigami? She had come to take her she supposed. To paradise, or to eternal damnation? During her life she only took care of her family, and cared for everyone, even the hollow that killed them all.

"Hollow, will you allow me to rejuvenate you into something pure? Or will you attempt to resist and cause nothing more but harm on this world?", the visitor barked at her, rather with a demanding tone. Her helmeted face slowly looked up to her, looking deep into her eyes. She knew that the visitor could not see through her visor, which brought a sense of security.

She looked around searching for her blade only to find it laying next to her. Her right hand reached for it, taking it into her hand. "No. I am not ready to leave this world yet.... When I find my brothers.. then we will pass on together.. the question is... will you let me seek them out?" Miranda moved her blade into her lap, ready to defend herself from her lax position should the visitor strikes.

Viletta sighed. This one was intelligent. The deed would be that much harder to do, and would be much more burdensome on her consciousness. It would have been a lot easier had the Hollow just attacked, or said something vile. But to speak in a civilized manner made this harder than it had to be. "Very well." She said, as she sheathed her zanpaku-to at her side for a moment, her left hand nearby it at all times, just in case she were to need to pull it out at a moment's notice to defend.

"Shed, you black dog of Rondanini!! Bear witness to end and beginning as flesh mends flesh." She chanted, as she began making intricate lines in the air with her right hand. The lines would form a five-pointed star, with the star facing up. She circled the design she made in mid-air, and slashed through it with her other hand. "Bakudo #38, Shitai Neji!" She called out, just as she slashed through the circle with her hand. Threads began coming out of the ground, flying straight for the Hollow. If it struck, it would start to sew through her skin and form the star that Viletta had just drawn in mid-air, before attaching to the tree, and pulling her to it. Breaking free of the thread's would require the Hollow tears its skin, or to tear the threads, though in this case it would probably be more likely that the threads would be broken first.

Still, just evading the Bakudo would possible give Viletta the chance she needed to strike down the Hollow, as she began sprinting to the side of the Hollow, opposite of where its sword lay. She drew her own zanpaku-to, and slashed at the Hollow's arm, intending to make the Hollow all but defenseless before she finished it off. "I can't let you seek out your family. You'll be with them after we find them." She called out as she was running. It simply wasn't in Viletta's job description to let the Hollow seek out her family. As long as she was there, she was a threat, and it was Viletta's job to rid the world of threat's.

(This isn't to say she hit automatically, but that's what she's going for.)

"Very well.", the Shinigami said as she slowly sheathed her weapon. It was the eery silence then that made her suspicious of the shinigami. The calm before the storm. Her muscles and her grip on her sword intensified as she prepared for what was coming next. "Shed, you black dog of....", the would be attacker said. Miranda barely heard the rest for she was already on the move, dodging to her right on instinct.

Her instincts proved right as she barely missed the threads that aimed to trap Miranda. Before she could even recover the Shinigami was upon her, slashing downward toward her arm. Miranda was barely able to move the arm out of the blades way and block it with the flat of her sword. The tip of the blade cut through the helmet's visor, cracking it and causing a piece to fall away, revealing a sad, tear stained grey eye that seemed to stare right through the shinigami. The breaking of that piece of her mask was especially painful, but not enough to stop her from defending herself.

At the moment she was on her knees, having not the chance to recover, and this strike was preventing her from doing so. However this would change. Reinforcing the blade from underneath it she pushed upward, finding that she was barely stronger than the shinigami in strength. Once on her feet She looked at the Shinigami With her exposed eye, now filled with anger rather than sorrow. One might notice that her eye was quickly turning from grey to blue with power as it charged energy for an attack. It seemed by appearance that it would be a cero, but in reality it was her Ice beam attack. With the enemy within three feet of her, dodging it would seem unlikely if at all possible. When she fired, she aimed it at the Shinigami's sword arm, hoping to gain an edge early in this fight. If it hit, it would encase the arm, or any where else it may hit, in a thick layer of ice, disabling it temporarily. It shouldnt take the opponant much to escape, but only a few moments is needed to gain the upper hand.

Viletta watched as her strike hit the Hollow's visor. It wasn't exactly what she was aiming for, but it did let her know the strength of the Hollow's bone-plated armor. When she was repelled, she was not entirely surprised. Often, Hollow's were physically stronger than she was. It took the finesse that she carried to dispatch them, when it came to her combating the spirit's. She looked as the Hollow began charging up what Viletta thought to be a cero. That was another thing that was not entirely surprising. Other than unique abilities that Hollow's typically were fond of, cero's were the second most common thing next to melee attacks. However, what Viletta didn't know, would hurt her worse in the end.

The 3rd Seat raised her zanpaku-to, holding it with the blade vertical, so as to cut through the cero. Much to her surprise, the beam froze her zanpaku-to, travelling down to her arm. She quickly let go with the hand that had not been frozen on, a snarl on her face that almost made her look like an animal evident. She took a few steps back, next to a tree, looking at it. She couldn't afford to lose the edge of using her hand at the moment, so she pulled her arm in front of her, and slammed her hand down on the tree at the wrist. With a sound like shattering, the ice encasing the zanpaku-to broke away, as did the ice on her wrist, though not on her arm. She could not bend her elbow, and the force of the strike resulted in an unhealthy cracking sound from her wrist.

Viletta grabbed the zanpaku-to with her other hand, having just broke her wrist to free her zanpaku-to. So it WASN'T a cero? Well, that would be a problem. An ice nature on a Hollow was never good.

"Frenzy, Doki no Amatsuchi." She called out, to which her zanpaku-to changed forms. It went from the normal katana-like form of a zanpaku-to, to resemble what not many would be able to identify as a Hungarian saber. "Bara." She said. As she swung, lines that had appeared on the blade began to pull apart, forming a snake sword. Cords were apparent after she swung, stretchy, but unknown to everyone except Viletta herself, unbreakable. Being swung in an arc, the blade expanded quickly, so that rather than stab the Hollow with the tip, the sides would cut her as the came down to form the regular saber once more. Was the Hollow to be struck by this attack, she would immediately feel her wound begin to feel odd, a little bit itchy even. It would feel as if some alien substance, though tiny, were inside. This would be the seeds that Viletta's zanpaku-to released on strike. The current ones were non-harmful, and only gave the enemy the effects that having minor allergies to something would.

(Notes: If you're having difficulty understanding her Shikai, think of Renji Abarai's shikai, and how it's long and whip-like. Also, the seeds abilities will not take effect until next turn when it finishes its growth phase. If the Hollow is hit, at least.)

The attack had worked more successfully than Miranda could ever imagine. She figured,no... hoped the shinigami would realize the true nature of the attack and move but she insteaded moved into a stance that looked as if she wanted to deflect the attack. The beam had frozen her weapon, and her arm as well. The attack had served its purpose in buying her some time. However the attack's impact was about to add more to her favor as she ended up breaking her wrist in effort to free her weapon. With only one arm, the shinigami would have to ante up to win the battle, which would happen sooner than Miranda expected.

"Frenzy, Doki no Amatsuchi."

Again, Miranda didnt just sit there and allow the shingami's attack hit her. She felt the girl's, or was it the sword's, power rise and lash out. Miranda barely had enough time to jump backwards and concentrate her power into the space in front of her, creating a two foot deep, five foot wide, and ten feet long. Luck must be on her side for the sudden appearance of the wall caught the blade inside of it. She transfromed her sword into a whip like weapon! What else could this attacker do? It made her mind spin. She had to have a backup plan because she knew the wall wouldnt hold. She hadn't put enough power into it for it to be strong. Cracks were already splitting the wall apart. Taking the opportunity given to her, she pointed the palm of her unarmed hand toward the wall, with a red ball of energy forming in her grasp. This was a cero charging, and figured the Shinigami would not be fooled this time. When done charging she awaited her attacker to break through the ice, so that she may fire her cero.

Viletta gritted her teeth as she saw the wall put up in defense of the Hollow. So it possessed elemental abilities? That was new to her. It was going to take a lot more than she knew to defeat this Hollow, that much was certain. The wall made of ice would surely shatter if she kept striking the base, so that was what she did. As she hit, she began to notice a blue glow appearing behind it. She ran forward and slashed the base, running off to the side. She turned as the wall began to crumble, seeing the cero charging in the palm of the Hollow's hand. She immediately pulled her zanpaku-to into original katana form, pulling it up to block the cero with the flat of her blade. She placed the forearm of her other arm against it, to help place more force behind the defense. It hurt, but she would have taken some nasty damage otherwise. The cero did not go amiss completely, however. She couldn't block it all with her zanpaku-to, and what she couldn't block, went to her stomach, resulting in the burning up of her shinigami's haori, exposing a now-raw stomach with a rather nasty-looking burn.

Given the moment after the cero was fired, Viletta immediately struck out with her snake-sword once more, a horizontal slash being sent to the female Hollow, attempting to bisect her at the midsection. She hoped it would work, but she also knew some Hollow's had thick hierro, and rather than bisect her, she would just cut her. That would be fine too, as she still had a seed to implant into the Hollow. (That sounded kind of dirty, not even going to lie...)

When she fired the cero, she realized her own mistake. Upon firing the cero, she had left herself open. She did hit the shinigami, and burned her pretty good. However, in that split second, time seemed to slow to a turtle's pace. It felt like hours, days, years. She waited for the slight tugging of blade across flesh and then the wetness of her own blood to shine her armor. She waited and waited but the moment never came.

Then... a second later.. she felt it. It was too fast for her to feel the pain, but she could feel the coolness of the air. It was calming, soothing. The cut was only around half an inch, maybe more. She took a step back, her hand feeling around her Hollow hole that was centered around over her stomach, where a human's navel should be. The cut was on both sides of the hole. It was bleeding but it wasn't serious. How curious, the shinigami could have killed her. She was toying with her! It made Miranda so angry. "You think I'm a monster! You think it is your right to place the blame of others' crime on me?! Stop and think for a moment... just because other hollows make life miserable for everyone else doesn't mean I do..... ", Miranda said to the Shinigami with anger dripping from her voice. The Shinigami's presence had woken her. The Shinigami attacked her. Then the Shinigami would take her family away... She was pissed.

Viletta frowned. "You think I'm doing this because you're a monster? I'm doing this because no Hollow can completely ignore their primal urges, even you. You may think you've got perfect control, but I've seen situations where an instance can change that. If you found your family, you'd be more likely to eat them, being controlled by the Hollow, than rejoice with them, I'm sure." She stated, her voice full of contempt. She watched as the small, nearly-invisible seeds that were placed upon being slashed by the sword start to grow. They wouldn't hurt Miranda any, but rather, it would form what looks like a belt of roses all around where her hole was on the front. The pollen produced would induce watery eyes, sneezing, itchiness, etc, as if she were a human allergic to the flowers. The fact that she was a Hollow would play no part whatsoever in resisting the pollen effect.

Viletta swung her zanpaku-to around once, forming a loop of corded blade, before lashing out. This time, it was more like a stab at the tip of the blade was sent directly towards Miranda's mask, the center of the eyes, to be precise. One more strike could mean the end of the Hollow, so she would have to play it out carefully. Not because it would be a final blow, but because now that one of the flowers had been planted, there was only one left to be grown; the one she liked to refer as the "Flytrap". It usually resulted in her adversaries losing their life, as the pain was very great.

You may think you've got perfect control, but I've seen situations where an instance can change that. If you found your family, you'd be more likely to eat them, being controlled by the Hollow, than rejoice with them, I'm sure.", The shinigami said with contempt in her voice. Miranda understood where the Shinigami was getting her motive to kill her now. She thought her family was alive! How wrong she was. Perhaps if she could prove that they were at least hollow.. she may change her mind....

Her train of thought was broken as her now watery vision caught her sword in a thrusting, whip-like motion. She realized a weakness in the weapon the Shinigami was using. Long weapons needed more time, more power, and more skill to use than shorter weapons. Once the attack was in motion it would be hard to stop. That would open up a hole in the Shinigami's offence, and allow Miranda to stop her assault for a few more moments to continue their conversation. She concentrated deeply, loosening her body so she can move in the right moment. Time seemed to slow. The tip of the blade moved closer.... closer... and closer. Luck was on her side once again, for she sneezed violently, moving her head out of the way. The tip still struck the side of her mask, the same side that was already partially broken. The sudden pain was unbearable, and caused tears to pour out of her eyes, and whimpers to escape her mouth. However, she was in movement as this happened, spinning and bringing the notched edge down on the sword that tore her mask off.

The notched edge caught the whip-sword and pinned it to the ground. That wasn't the end of it though. To give herself more time to speak, she charged another ice beam, aimed at the parts of the sword that were now touching the ground, making it harder for the Shinigami to get the weapon free. "Now that can speak without you trying to kill me,", Miranda said as she turned her head toward the Shinigami. Her short white hair spilled out of the broken mask, and half of her mouth was now visible as well as her tear stained cheek. " Did you know my whole family is 'Dead'? They were consumed by hollows before I died and was consumed. They are hollows now at least, so why would I devour them? You may have even come across their bounties. Their names are November Frost, Jacob Frost, and Daniel Frost.", She said, unaware of the flower growing out of her bleeding wound.

Viletta watched as her weapon somewhat hit the target, going for exactly what she wanted. That hit was all she needed to insert the next seed in, the more potent one. It didn't hit exactly where she planned, but a small strike was better than no strike. She watched as the being, however, placed her own sword against Viletta's zanpaku-to, pinning it. One thing that Miranda may or may not have known, was that with all whip-like weapons, a mere flick of the wrist held great power in returning the weapon, as the moment traveled the length of the blade. It began to pull back suddenly, when the ice beam hit it. It missed somewhat, hitting the ground near the zanpaku-to, though some ice did attach itself. The zanpaku-to flew back to Viletta, becoming a regular katana once more.

Despite not being pinned, the tip of the zanpaku-to that the Hollow had frozen added more weight. The weapon was able to be used as a whip because it was so perfectly balanced. With any added extra weight, on the tip especially, it would be much harder to control and coordinate. So until she let the ice melt and broke it, she wouldn't be able to lash out from a distance. Instead, Viletta listened to Miranda's words, noticing the rather human-like appearance underneath the bone. That was rather... odd. Most Hollow's bodies were one with the bone. She must be something more akin to an arrancar then, for certain.

"I... know not who you speak of. And I imagine your intentions pure, but I still cannot let you go forth to find them. You say you just want to find them. What then? What if they're not how you remember? I'm not sure if you knew this or not, but once a Hollow has consumed a certain number of soul's, they find that their ever-longing lust for souls cannot be quenched by mere humans, and begin to turn on each other. You are a danger not only to humans, but to your own kind. I am sure you are lovely as a person, but as a Hollow, I can't allow you to go forth. Allow me to give you rebirth, so you can be born as you once were. I don't do this merely to harm you. If you allow me to purify you, you can live as a human once more, albeit in the Soul Society." She said, her voice at the end growing somewhat soft. She felt bad for this Hollow, she did, but it was her duty to destroy her kind, and to prevent any chaos from happening. "As it is, you're too much of a threat to people to be allowed to continue living..." She said, a frown starting to grace her delicate features at the last proclamation. It was obvious this was a little bit hard for her, but it was just as obvious she wouldn't take no for an answer.

If you allow me to purify you, you can live as a human once more, albeit in the Soul Society. As it is, you're too much of a threat to people to be allowed to continue living...", The Shinigami said, more compassionate and empithatic this time. That was what she wanted from her... empathy.

Her brothers.. they could be changed if she found them. They could be monsters. It hurt her deeply to hear this but maybe she needed to be hurt. Nothing hurts worse than the truth. Her heart was tearing inside. She wanted to go to the Soul Society, but she wanted to go with her brothers. It wouldn't be the same... nothing was. Their absence was unbearable. The numerous, contradicting thoughts in her mind made her head ache. Her stance fell to a kneel as her hands clamped her head, trying to suppress the splitting headache that threatened to split her consciousness in two. The headache receaded, only for a moment when she calmed. Her eyes looked back up at the Shinigami who offer her salvation from the hollow inside of her, and this cruel world and asked, " When I go.... I want to fight..... Soul Society's enemies are many... I know because I guess i'm one of them.... I want to fight for the right reasons, on the right terms. When I rebirth.... I want to fight... I dont want another person's life ruined by a hollow, like my family's lives. Wouldl the Soul Society let me?"

Her eyes were filled with renewed hope, and her smile reflected it. Her grip on her sword loosened but she did not let go. It was like what a Zanpaku-to was to a Shinigami. The sword was made from the remnants of her soul. It resembled the protectiveness she had for her family. It represented the need to take up the sword to protect what was most important for her. She wasn't about to pass on if it meant throwing it all away.

Viletta, hearing the manner in which the Hollow spoke, visibly relaxed. She was still on guard, of course, but the tension was gone. She kind of expected the Hollow to attack, though she hoped that she wouldn't. She listened to the female Hollow in front of her, gauging what could happen if she were to try to join. She spoke, slowly at first, but with gaining normalcy. "If you were to go to Soul Society... with training, you could become a Shinigami, like myself. They would be your own reasons, of course. But the way would be Soul Society's way. Who knows? Maybe you'll keep your memories, and we'll end up in the same squad." She said, smiling somewhat, truly believing the woman ahead was going to submit herself. "The way it works... if I cleanse you, you go to Rukongai, a section of the Soul Society. From there, you can join the Shinigami Academy, and apply to become one. If you can do that, you can find your family, and possibly save them from a life of eternal torment." She said, resolute and firm in her woods, as she stood tall. For a moment, the rather short woman looked much, much taller than she was.

While the Shinigami seemed firm, resolute, and tall, Miranda had become broken, split in the conflict that has begun to arise between her human self an her hollow self. Her hollow self saw the shinigami as an easy dinner, and urged Miranda to strike and devour. She was close enough to exploit the opening, and yet the human side resisted quite successfully. Her eyes closed shut as the intense pain returned to her head. Her teeth clenched, but she did manage to speak, "If you are going to send me, now is the time.... the hollow inside wants you dead..."

Her hands clenched around the bronzed colored blade. The held on so hard that snapping and crackling could be heard, not from the sword hilt, but her left hand's bones. That only added to the pain, but she still held the hollow inside at bay. She wanted to grab the shinigami's sword right now and send herself but any movement it seemed would only allow the hollow to gain control.

Viletta nodded, as she walked forward, unchaining her zanpaku-to once more. So the Hollow was being truthful. She wanted to move on. That was just as well, and made it much easier on Viletta. She didn't have the patience, nor the time, to fight fight. Though if Miranda had chosen to fight, she wouldn't have had much of a choice. Quickly, Viletta flicked her arm out to the side, adding emphasis on the flicking motion of the wrist, so the blade would wrap around her throat. The blades wouldn't dig in , though small cuts might be made if Miranda moved. "Move on in peace, Spirit." She said finally, as she yanked. Due to being wrapped around Miranda's neck, it would practically decapitate her with the spinning, saw-like motion.

(Figured I would just auto-hit, since she was practically holding still for Viletta. If you'd like me to change it, I'd have no problem.

The Pain was intense, but also quick. Then she felt nothing, and blackness caught a hold of her. It was... what was it? Her mind began to slow, to numb. Her sense of feeling felt as if it was shrinking and yet growing. She existed and yet did not exist. As all this went through her mind as her hollow body died, her half helmeted head hit the ground before falling apart into spiritual dust. Her body followed behind the head as it thumped against the ground also decomposing into spiritual dust. Then only her sword remained, partly sticking from the ground when she dropped it upon being decapitated. (Ummm death exit?)

Viletta had felt... what. Touched? She felt touched by this woman's noble goals. So much so, she thought it a shame to just leave the sword here. It did not disappear, so she would take it upon herself to oversee the sword, until the woman came to pick it up. She was sure she'd know her when she saw her, but until then nobody else got her. With the end of the fight, she returned his zanpaku-to to its sealed state, and put it back in its sheath. She grabbed the sword of the now-fallen Hollow, and requested a Senkaimon be opened. Upon approval, she walked through the open doors, and walked back to her own squad, ready to be done with the whole ordeal. Paperwork, paperwork. That was next.

Doctor is the member of the month. Ever since he joined, he's been extremely active, and really knows how to get things moving plot-wise. He was recently promoted to staff as well, and so far has shown great enthusiasm. He's also a friendly presence in the c-box, which is never a bad thing.

Gray is character of the month. Apparently one of the more popular characters on the site, well-known for his habit of stripping, which isn't good enough for Ulqui, but seems to do the job for his numerous IC fangirls. Has also earned (EARNED, not bought) numerous stat points in the past few months. Side note: Anyone who speaks of a gilf pairing will be shot on sight. :U
