Keeping a Promise [Open] Vnhzth_zps5ce7c681-1_zpsb0b1c87f

"Its only getting worse..." Kuroh slid his thumb across the surface of his phone, his eyes following the words that traveled across the screen. He had been checking on the news from Karakura only to find stories of other strange happenings occurring all around. Evidently there were unknown causes for the events that were popping up one after the other were from unknown causes. Kuroh narrowed his eyes at that line. It wasn't hard for anyone with any spiritual awareness to know what was causing the strange events. there were whole other worlds of beings that could cause what was happening right under the noses of thousands of people without leaving a hint. Of course people that even knew about those things were rare. Even he didn't know everything, just whatever he had happened to run into by himself, having no present connections to anyone else like himself.

The fullbringer made a face and hit the sleep button on his phone, watching the screen turn black before shoving the device into the pocket of his jacket, careful not to rip his beloved charm off of it though. He had made it himself, a small chibi version of his adoptive father, Ichigen Miwa. (People could call him creepy for it. He didn't care.) He had read enough of the news. It was making him all the more angry with what was going on, which to be honest he didn't know all that much about. All he knew is that Ichigen had been right when he predicted evil was going to enter the human world. Kuroh had been preparing for it, though obviously not enough if he hadn't the first clue of what to do. Looking down to the sword at his side he let his eyes fall a bit. So much for keeping promises.

He turned the corner of the street, passing by people who seemed to be heading as far away as they could from downtown. It was no surprised. He sensed there was something serious going on there. The tall teen pushed past them, noticing it seems a bit dark further down the way. Power lines must have been feeling the wrath of whatever was fighting. And whatever was fighting was strong. Too strong for him and he knew it. So rather than charge right into an in vain death, he moved along the streets, looking for any that might have some relation to what was going on. These things didn't just happen on their own after all.

Fighting the crowds just wasn't working though. He couldn't look everyone over and search for odd pressures that way. Noticing a ladder hanging down from the fire escapes of some buildings in the alley next to him, Kuroh pushed through a few people, entering the alley. The ladder hadn't been let down, still a good 15 feet in the air. It would have proved a problem for a normal human but luckily he was just the one who had the right power. Kuroh extended his right hand out in front of him, as if reaching for the rung that was so far above it. In a moment though he hand had a soft glow about it along with the formation of what looked like a smokey, violet aura. That aura shot forward, the shape of a hand at the end of it. The new hand latched onto the first rung of the latter and in a fraction of a second it was pulling Kuroh up so he could grab that rung himself. He pulled himself up to the first deck before continuing up each set of rungs until he reached the roof top. This would do much better. He perched himself at the edge of the build, one foot up on the ledge as he used his knee to prop himself up with his arm, watching everyone that walked, or powerwalked, by below him.

Keeping a Promise [Open] Empty

Today was eventful, and events of interest were coming too quickly and too often. Even then as she stood on the corner of a building far above the retreating crowds could she sense the multitude of spiritual pressures in the city, and even some more powerful ones beyond. It was a mad house now, and the structure of this world was becoming unstable because of it, or so she believed. How long could the land of the living take the increasing hollow attacks and the massive spiritual battles taking place? It was almost unbearable.

The fourth seat of first squad crossed her deathly pale arms, covering the tattoo that marked her position in her new family back at the Soul Society. It was honorable to be adopted into a family so soon but... still she felt it was missing something. The smile and adoring look of her brothers, the warmth of the loving embrace of her blood family. She missed them.. and had promised herself to stop them and drag them back to the Soul Society. However she felt as if she was going astray from her path, and even thoughts of her promise never being fulfilled filled her head. Her already sad expression had deepened, and her gray eyes closed slightly. A few tears fell from her eyes, but she refused to sob. Tears were enough, but sobs only made her weak, or so her new family told her.

She felt a comforting hand on her shoulder and she immediately knew who it was. It was her Zanpakuto's spirit, Odoru Honō. Her head turned to see him with a serious look on her face, with his emerald eyes radiating a protectiveness she had never seen or heard of. They were bonded together, and he was considered family to her, if not more. She smiled slightly and brushed his hand away. If anyone saw her do this, they would not see the figure behind her nor the hand that comforted her. Miranda and Miranda alone saw Odoru. He was the spirit of her Zanpakuto, and was with her always, even when she felt alone. The thought alone of this was enough to make her smile and stop her tears.

Her smiled faded when she heard someone approaching, climbing up from a fire escape ladder on the side of the building. She felt a sudden burst of spiritual pressure radiate from this newcomer, and immediately placed her hands on her weapon, ready. The newcomer however did not notice her as he sat down on the ledge some ten feet away. Her head tilted in curiosity, and approached quietly, sitting three feet away from him, watching the people below. " It has been very eventful lately.... don't you agree?", she asked, with a tone of caution in her voice. Her family was successful in teaching her discipline and serioussness when it came to complete strangers, but she felt she could trust this guy. She deep down wanted someone else to confide in other than Odoru..

With the sound of a voice, Kurohh raised his head. Looking in its direction he was surprised to see a shinigami beside him. How had he missed that? His expression only changed for a moment, his eyes a bit wider than normal to show his quick shock before he forced them to hide once again. He kept up his straight face, eyes calculating and unreadable at the same time. "It has been" he answered short and quickly. Shinigami weren't new to him. He knew basically what they did, taking care of hollows and other things that attacked humans. They were at least on good terms in his mind. That didn''t mean they were completely trustworthy though. Anyone could be a complete wackjob. He did though this once need something from them, dropping a bit of his guard, allowing a hint of his frustration to be seen as he looked back over the ledge.

"What's changed?" he questioned, not looking back to her yet. It was clear he was clueless about what had been going on. All he knew was that something had happened to cause a hue shift in the amount of pressures flooding the area, and they weren't all hollows. "There's something different" Finally, Kuroh raised his head again, looking to Miranda again, still trying to look hard but his brows were slightly furrowed much to his dismay. "You are a shinigami right? You must know something..." then Kuroh caught himself betraying something he held very dear. Where were his manners. How could he just question some one and not even know the first thing about them other than the few facts their uniform gave away?

"Forgive me" he bowed his head, taking his foot down from the ledge so he could stand up straight. He bowed just slightly, showing his apologies. "My name is Kuroh Yatogami.. May I ask your name?" He straightened up, hands at his side in a much too formal manner for the situation. It was a bad habit of his to forget how to be casual most of the time. This shinigami didn't seem like the overly strict, formality kind. After all she had aproached him with that casual manner. Though the etiquette instilled in his head and his promise to keep his father's words living through himself got the better of him. He wasn't embarassed of it though, quite the contrary. At that moment he looked rather proud of himself, not caring if things had become a bit awkward with the sudden shift in mood.

Doctor is the member of the month. Ever since he joined, he's been extremely active, and really knows how to get things moving plot-wise. He was recently promoted to staff as well, and so far has shown great enthusiasm. He's also a friendly presence in the c-box, which is never a bad thing.

Gray is character of the month. Apparently one of the more popular characters on the site, well-known for his habit of stripping, which isn't good enough for Ulqui, but seems to do the job for his numerous IC fangirls. Has also earned (EARNED, not bought) numerous stat points in the past few months. Side note: Anyone who speaks of a gilf pairing will be shot on sight. :U
