The Catalyst: the Captain's Convene [Invite; No violence/miam/death; PL event]

Setting: The Captain's meeting room.
A very spacious room in both horizontal and vertical directions. The floor gleams from the recent glossing of the fine wood floors. A large golden gate with bars guards the room from entrants and sound, making it ideal for private meetings. The walls are all scarlet, though the lighting is positioned toward the center back of the room, leaving most of the other walls unlit and out of view. One third of the back wall has a gold plate emerging from a crimson frame and, in the center of the gold plate is a chair which seems more like a throne.

Reason for meeting: Shortly after a message of declaration of war came from Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto Sotaicho, a meesage specifically for the captains went out only saying "We must convene..." The Captain Commander is currently not present, but the door have been unlocked so the captains may proceed in...

"Hm... suppose I'm a little early?"

Suffice it to say, the comment was only really meant for herself as light green eyes scanned the room that she had, if she was honest, very rarely ever seen. After all, she'd only been a simple seated officer before, and then moved over to the Kido Corps. Never had she been an actual Captain of the Gotei 13, so it was her first time actually setting foot in this place after catching glimpses. Of course, that rose another certain issue: she was not a Captain of the Gotei 13. The lack of a white haori and instead a light pink, short-sleeved jacket emblazoned with the three-pointed circle that was the signet of the Kido Corps displayed that fact quite prominently.

Still, she was involved in this, if a bit more loosely. The least she could do, perhaps, was sit in while her own thoughts on what she should be doing in the matter swirled along in her head, never quite coming to any sort of conclusion just yet. A little frustrating, perhaps, but it was nothing uncommon for her. Chances were she'd have to depart from Soul Society soon enough to such ends as she personally was hoping to achieve, but... just for now, at least, she could remain relatively idle. As long as the paths taken between the worlds was still being monitored, as it was, her base job was being done.

"Well... hm... I suppose I'll just take a spot off to the side, then. Wouldn't want to get in the way of the actual Gotei Captains," she idly spoke, making her way indeed off to the side beyond where she was certain said Captains would stand and simply letting her eyes wander for now, hands clasped behind her waist.

Now, she supposed, to actually see what the Captains were like beyond those few she'd worked under.

Late. On-time. No, early? The time was exactly so-and-so o'clock, give or take a few dozen nanoseconds-oh. The time changed again. How unfortunate. The Captain of Squad 12 could only be reminded by his thoughts how alike himself and the March Hare from the fairytale, Alice in Wonderland, truly were, in his opinion. But it would be best not to be thinking of fairy tales at a time as serious as this. With an actually rather slow stride, the brown-haired Captain walked to the meeting room, opening the doors. He spied the Captain of Squad 5, and the Commander of the Kido Corps in the room. He stopped, bowing to both, as he walked to take his spot at the end of the first row, being one of the last two Captain's, just before 13. This would mean the Captain of Squad 13 would stand directly across from him. That was fine by him. He had no quarrel with him, nor any other Captain really. Kazuki Jin had no doubt that there were many matters to be brought up here, one of them being the hell being's that the Captain-Scientist had found out about through surveillance, and had heard tell of the Captain-Commander meeting personally. But then again, that was just gossip. He should really learn when to keep his ears shut to such things.

But also, perhaps there was more. Maybe it was the Espada once more. Even as a regular member, the Arrancar tended to cause mischief for the Gotei, attempting to fight them at every odd and end. The fact that these trouble-makers were united under one leader was quite the cause for concern. Especially when most of them were hardly less malevolent, and far more intelligent, than the average Hollow. Jin turned, noticing the Captain of Squad 5's robes were rather bloody. "If I may ask, what happened? And if you would like, I have an agent that could get rid of those stains for you, after the meeting." Jin said in a friendly manner. He wasn't smiling like he normally did, but rather wore a look of concern. His brown hair adjusted itself on his shoulders as he tilted his head, his Captain's haori pristine and white. In case of events where it got damaged, Jin had made sure to have a second one crafted. After all, he tended to forget he was wearing it while performing experiments, and got it damaged. So, he had had another made. So shoot him for wanting to look clean. It didn't mean he disrespected the sign of his authority, but something else entirely.

Oh this day was getting to be quite straining on Hanatarou. Not a moment to himself as he was messaged, like many other shinigami both earthbound and home based, that war was again upon them and all hands were required to be bloodied. Unlike many however Hanatarou had to return home with the advent of the order to carry his zanpakutou, something he had forgotten the last time he checked in from earth duty. He had been trying to secretiely retrieve it without notice by using a personal family friends private gate but just as he had made it to the finl stretch nd was exiting his dusty room inside division hq he had been found out.

None to gently his division members tackled him to the ground yelling something along the lines of cngratulations and patting him incredibly hard on the back before he passed out entirely from the excitement. When he woke up he was propped against a wall with a butterfly sitting on his knee inside the first division hq. He spazzed out completely for a moment as the captain commanders voice boomed inside his head, thinking himself a deadman for sleeing on the job, before his grogginess cleared and he realized the butterfly was to blame.

A sense of dread filled him as he got to the point where he had been summoned to the Captains Meeting Hall to await judgement. That had been about an hour ago now, he idly considered as he glanced back and forth whilst nervously adjusting ad re-adjusting his 4th division satchel.

As several captains fled past he attempted to get their attention but he could barely manage a squeak, let alone a full sentence to inquire what was happening, before they hurried past him in all manner of dress and disarrey.

"Captain Kakashei let me help you, your bleeding." Came out as a squeak of terror.

"Excuse me Captain Jin," Came out as a slow release of terror breathe, a very low unhearale soft breathing out Hanatarou had when he could not speak at all.

The babies he just kind of as confounded by so that by the time he remembered to speak up Shuuhei was already inside.

Resigned to whatever his fate may be Hanatarou hung his head low and waited outside the doors to the Captains Meeting Hall. Fate smiled, but on this day it was not smiling for Hanatarou.

He question which captain would arrive next, his eyes open once the doors open. Only to be surprised to see that it was the head of the Kido Corpes. Usually she is not involve in these type of meetings, which was surprising, she was a veteran in soul society. And could take most of the captains head on in a bout. Since she does run the Kido Corpes, she should be at least considered as one of the captains. At least, that is what Kakashei believed. Nevertheless, it wasn`t important right now, it is good that she is here, the news is needed to be known by all. Looking forward, the dark skinned captain waited for the next captain, which just so happen to be The Captain of Squad Twelve. Though his stance did not waiver, Kakashei acknowledged both Saria and Jin with a slight nod of his head.

He wasn`t surprised by Jin`s question, it was not odd for onw to question the stains and wounds upon his haori and skin. Though he would of rather just waited till the rest of the captains arrived, he decided to answer. "I was going to wait for the arrival of the others before delivering the news, but I guess i can give the news early. My wonds were given by the now Former Captain of Squad Four, Izumo Keisuki. I shall go into detail once the other captains arrive. As for the agent, yes, I would like that" he answered as he notice the arrival of the next captain, Shuuhei Hisagi, who already knew of the issue. It seem he was bringing he and his leutinent`s child with him. Though he found it to be odd, it wasn`t a big issue to KaKashei. So, he simply gave his nod to the captain, and kept with his usual stance.

Some time later, another made there apperance. It was a member of Squad Four, Hanataro. He was standing in the halls, which was odd, but not to much of a surprise. Kakashei wondered why the male was here, but judging by the event, he could be the leutinent, or maybe even the thre replacement for Izumo. It would be rather quick of Yammato, he did not expect a replacement captain to be appointed so quickly. Looking to the male, he was slightly surprised to hear his question. But then again, he was a member of Squad Four, so of course he would ask to mend a fellow shinigami wounds. He was going to wait, but he did not want his wounds to get any worster, and end up getting infected, but then again, he could handle it. "No Thanks, I am fine for the time being." he answered while looking to his wounds for a moment. Looking back to the wall before him, his thoughts seem to play about through his mind while waiting for the rest.

The Senkaimon appeared above the skies of Soul Society. The thought of a warm bath welcoming her home would have to wait, as she knew she was already quite tardy for the meeting. When was the last time she had been to a meeting on time? The answer was none. In the many centuries she had served as captain, not once was she first to a captain's meeting. Of course, this one would be no exception. But it wasn't her fault, the commodore seemed to have a thing for picking the most inconvenient times to call for a meeting -- battling hollow on Earth, doing paperwork, taking a bath, drinking at the bar... you name it. At least she didn't smell of alcohol, that was slightly embarrassing. As the gate closed behind her, she wasted no time travelling to the location of the meeting, not stopping for any of the shinigami who greeted her sight. Maybe if she hurried, she wont be the last one. With that thought, she utilised her reiatsu, pushing her body beyond a speed easily perceived by the naked eye. The rural surroundings were fast disappearing, morphing into taller buildings as she quickly approached the division barracks. The blur of her figure rushed past the gates as she finally made her way into the first division to partake in the meeting of the captains.

She placed her free hand on the large door behind which almost (if not all) the captains had already gathered. It could have been the silence, or it could have been acoustics of the room, but the creeking of the door hinge as it opened was more audible than normal -- of course it would be, there must be some kind of inverse relationship between tardiness and inconspicuousness. And seeing as how she was one of the later ones to come in, the loud noise alerting everyone of her presence was well deserved. However, the woman wasn't going to let that hold her back, so all eyes were on her, fine. She simply held her head up high and slowly headed toward her place in the line up of captains. As she walked past those that were already gathered, she noted each and every one of them, remembering some faces, while seeing some for the very first time. Finally, the woman stepped into her designated spot in the room. The tip of her sheathed zanpakuto made a loud tapping noise on the floor boards as she placed it in front of her, supporting her weight on it slightly.

Well, she wasn't the last one. Finally, it was time to relax. Her shoulders loosened up, dropping slightly, allowing her captain's haori to fall half way down her back and shoulders, revealing her normal attire -- the room was quite warm in comparison to the cold winter of the material world. The crimson colour on the fifth division captain's sleeve caught the attention of her as soon as she walked into the room, that and the scent it emitted.

"No time to change, captain?" She glanced over at him and his wound "That looks rather... nasty. Perhaps after the meeting you could come by my office, I'd be happy to give you some lessons in self defence."

Of course the meeting would be now of all times. Right when his squad needed him to be the beacon of hope so tangled in their web of an everyday life to get through the rough time of many men, he had to go away for a captain's meeting. Of course, Tenka knew that it had to be important if there was a meeting. Something had happened, and he had no clue what it was going to be. He hopped it wasn't another Espada thing, the war between captains and espada were getting so tiresome, it was hardly worth the effort anymore. But now wasn't the time to think about that, it was to listen to the head captain and learn what is going on in this crazy world of their's.

He entered the room, late of course, out of breath from the huge trek he committed just to make sure he wasn't even later. He stopped in the doorway, hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath before he took his spot among the rows of captains, hardly remembering exactly where he stood. After a few moments, he finally stood fully, the trademark smile on his face as a few beads of sweat trickled from his forehead, into his hair of all places.

Tenka noticed the head captain wasn't in the room yet, deciding he had a little more time to be relaxed before the formality started. Of course, he wasn't going to go completely informal, but it was nice to relax and slack any chance he could get. "Hello everyone!" He said, nodding to each one individually as he smiled once again, the smile never leaving his face between the nods and stares. That of course, is when he noticed that neither of the captains he stood next to were there. A look of doom and gloom showed on his face slightly, not being used to having no landmarks on where exactly he should stand. Instantly he started scratching the back of his head with his right hand, letting out a chuckle as he tried to remember anything else that showed him to his spot.

That was when he remembered Shuuhei, the Squad Nine captain, stood directly across from him last time. Smiling once again, the current problem solved, Tenka moved to take his place across from the Squad Nine Captain. Scratching his head once more, his smile never leaving his face the entire time.

Water.
Plain, untainted, water.
The staple drink of many a sportsman taking a mid-game break, and one of the better options for rehydrating during exercise. This was, in fact, what Arthur was downing, and quite a lot of it. He was a captain, and if he didn’t keep his physical abilities as honed as he could, there was going to be Hell to pay.

Speaking of Hell, a message was sent to him, summoning him to a meeting. Him being him, he suspected that the other captains – or a majority of them, at least – had gathered already. Being a captain, he knew the importance of punctuality, but that didn’t stop him from being off by a little bit. Time was a strict mistress – or master, if you perceived its embodiment as ‘Father’ Time – and Arthur had put too much into his schedule. Training, Hollow dispatching, paperwork – he was considering time off, but he knew it’d be pointless. He couldn’t sit still unless he had something to think about, and right now, he had nothing to think about.

The journey there was nothing special, though it did give Arthur time to contemplate the reason he had been told to attend the meeting. There had been no forewarning, probably indicating some degree of urgency. He didn’t expect the captain commander to have a desperate tone of voice, not perceiving him as that kind of man – he barely dared to think of his senior at all, fearing him more than he respected him.
It’s as times like this that I wish I had a lieutenant…

John smirked, not having any idea of how else to react to his own little thought. He remembered why he never bothered having a lieutenant – or bringing his current one along. He didn’t remember whether he had one or not, most likely due to his habit of wandering, dealing with the paperwork and other issues when he was called back for them. Nobody seemed to complain much – he did the job well, if a little inefficiently. There had been talk of replacing him, but nobody had really bothered taking it seriously. All he really wanted a lieutenant – well, anybody, really – for, was to keep him company, for someone to crack jokes with. Unfortunately, most of those who followed him tended to end up dead. Maybe it was a curse. Maybe it was bad luck. He didn’t know – he just felt it was best to keep people at arm’s length.

Arthur’s face was solemn, upon entering the meeting room, and taking his respective place. He’d seen the room before, many centuries before. Except, that time, he hadn’t even made lieutenant, and he had been brought before the other captains for his fate to be discussed. It was a matter that couldn’t have been made public –chaos would have spread if it was found that near-invincible Hollows had been manufactured, by a Shinigami, no less. Enough trouble was being had with explaining the missing squad members, and keeping the ones who had been imprisoned quiet. But Arthur? He was different. He had almost slaughtered the entire prison under the facility, and his captain along with them. It was no small miracle that he got out of there alive.

You could see it in his eyes – the place stirred up terrible memories, and he was going through each of them until he was addressed, whether directly, or as part of the meeting.
