Name: Shuuhei Hisagi.
Age: Exact age is unknown, he looks roughly twenty years old.
Gender: Male
Squad: Nine
Rank: Captain
Weapons: Wears three explosive bands, one around his neck and two around each arm.
Appearance: He stands at 5'11" and weighs 158lbs, with a medium frame and a lean build; He's well toned yet not overly muscular, his appearance hides how strong he actually is. His hair is jet black and grown out past his neck to rest between his shoulder blades, it's medium length and shaggy in appearance but it's obviously well kept, styled similarly to when he was in the academy during his younger days with hair cascading around his face to reach his chin. Perhaps his most distinguishing features are the three scars straight over his eye that lead down to his right cheek (gained during a past Hollow attack), the number "69" tattooed on his left cheek (inspired by Kensei Muguruma, who saved him from a Hollow when he was a young child), and a cobalt blue-striped tattoo running across his left cheek and over the bridge of his nose, presumably gained after obtaining the rank of lieutenant. He wears a choker around his throat and matching armbands on both upper arms. These have explosive properties. His eyes are storm cloud gray. Hisagi wears a sleeveless Shihakushō which, aside from the fact it's sleeveless, is fairly normal in appearance. He also wears a sleeveless captain's haori, the haori has a cobalt blue under coloring as per his request upon promotion. Lastly, on his left ring finger, he has a wedding ring tattoo. The tattoo is of a violet colored rose in full bloom whose stem wraps around the finger, he got this tattoo after proposing to Kizomaru who suggested the idea. The rose is violet in color because violet is Kizomaru's favorite color.
Personality:
Hisagi is an extremely mature and calm individual, a state that is slightly at odds with his somewhat punk-like appearance. He usually takes responsibility and tends to avoid violence when possible. He seems to be virtuous, much like his former captain's image; their views often coincide until it is revealed that Kaname Tōsen is a subordinate of Sōsuke Aizen. After Tōsen betrays the Soul Society with Aizen and Ichimaru, Hisagi forms a friendship with Tōsen's former friend, Sajin Komamura, with both of them resolving to open Tōsen's eyes to the truth. He is often seen in the company of the 3rd Division lieutenant, Izuru Kira. He comes from the lower class, but when he is pressed for cash, he is ready to rely on any free food source available, including one provided by someone as obtuse and snotty as Marechiyo Ōmaeda, however with both his promotion and Kizomaru insisting on making him lunches(despite his own ability to cook), he hasn't had to rely on such sources.
Hisagi has stated that he does not like the shape of his Zanpakutō's Shikai release, as it looks like something meant to "reap life itself". He also fears his sword's power, because to him, it is something of a sign of respect to battle for justice as well as a testament to the true strength of one's character. This philosophy is taught to him by his former captain, given the latter's "follow the path with the least bloodshed" creed, indicating a reasonable closeness between the two. It also seems that while battling, he becomes a darker person and seeks fear in his enemies while in battle.
As captain of Squad Nine not only does the leadership of his division weigh on him, but also the chief editorial position of Seireitei Communication. In what little free time he has, he likes to practice on a guitar that he found on one of his missions to the Human world and brought back to Soul Society as well as hang around with his wife and friends. As members of his division find his practice annoying, he tends to do it in the mountains of Rukongai, inviting Kizomaru along who will pack a picnic for the while they are up there. He receives proper guidance at last in the handling of the instrument from Yasutora Sado after the Ryoka invasion and has greatly improved in his skills, now he can practice more easily around his division but his preferred place is still the mountains of Rukongai. He dreams of starting a band one day, though he has yet to find anyone aside from his wife who would be willing to join. He ran a serial article in Seireitei Communication, titled "Please Teach Me! Shuuhei Sensei!!", but it never managed to get popular, and was cancelled after having published three lessons on Shinigami and Soul Society. He is also the author of
This Hand, That Hand, The Hand Over There and
Goodbye To Yesterday's Me. It is also known that he cooks well and his favorite food is Vienna sausage, while he dislikes sea urchins.
Bio:
Approximately 100 years before the current story line, a young Shuuhei and several of his playmates fell prey to a Hollow attack in Rukongai. Luckily, it wasn't long until they were saved by Kensei Muguruma and the 9th Division. After defeating the Hollow, Kensei attempted to cheer Hisagi up (albeit with a slightly scary smile and demanding manner) and asked his name. This was when Hisagi saw Kensei's "69" tattoo on his chest and acquired the inspiration to get the same tattoo on his cheek.
Shuuhei was already a famous Shinigami even before becoming a seated officer. He began taking missions with the Gotei 13 when he was still a student of the Shinigami Academy. During his last year of study, Shuuhei and two of his classmates, Kanisawa and Aoga, were assigned to lead a field lesson on performing the Konsō with Freshman Class One, the class which Renji Abarai, Izuru Kira, and Momo Hinamori were members of. All went well until the end of the lesson, when a group of huge Hollows took the class by surprise. As both Kanisawa and Aoga were killed, Shuuhei ordered all of the freshmen to run and tried to fend off the hollows himself until help arrived. However, he was quickly overpowered, being wounded over his right eye, and would have been killed if Renji, Izuru, and Momo hadn't turned back to help. Fortunately, Captain Sōsuke Aizen and Lieutenant Gin Ichimaru arrived in time to save them all. Kira mentioned that Shuuhei failed the entrance exam for the academy twice. However, his talent allowed him to become a seated officer in the Gotei 13 without having to pass additional tests in the end.
Shortly after attaining his position as a seated officer of the 9th Division he asked Tōsen to meet him in a secluded area of Soul Society. Upon his arrival Shuuhei asked that Tōsen remove him from his position as during field practice he couldn't effectively battle as he was scared. He explained that he has done similar drills in the real world and notes that his injured right eye was a direct result of one of those drills. He tells Tōsen that ever since then he cannot settle himself every time he unsheathes his blade. Tōsen tells him that his feelings of fear are the very reason he should strive to become a seated officer, as power shouldn't matter to a soldier but knowing his own limitations should. It is Shuuhei's fear that allows him to hold his blade for those who share the same fear. Tōsen further explains that a man that does not fear his own blade has no business removing it from his sheath. He tells Hisagi that if the thought of engaging an opponent on the battlefield truly terrifies him to his very core then he is a true soldier and within his possession he has something that is priceless and after that, Shuuhei was inspired because of what Tōsen said.
Twenty years ago, while out shopping in Inuzuri, he met his now wife Kizomaru while out shopping. The two seemed to hit it off, chatting as they both continued their shopping trip, however he didn't know just how much this woman would end up changing his life. A month after the betrayal, Kizomaru had joined him in his office on one of her free days to assist him with his paper work, when during a conversation she had confessed her feelings to him; He was shocked, but it shocked her even more when he said he returned her feelings. Explaining that the week after the three captains left, when she had helped him home and they shared that drunken kiss, he had realized his feelings for her. and managed to make time for each other throughout the chaos; it wasn't until after the Winter War that they were able to more actively date and after two months of doing so they became engaged and married a month after that.
Now granted only two months of dating before marriage could be considered rushed but the two had known each other for years before, not to mention the on and off dating before the Winter War; so it made sense to them, especially with how quickly the two seemed to fall for each other romantically. In November they filed for permission to start a family and it was granted but a couple weeks after and the two started trying, in December came the news that Kizo was pregnant; though the pregnancy was rough they managed. The two were soon elated when Kizo gave birth to twin children in October, though the time was not exactly the best it did no less to dampen the warm mood it brought them.
Three months after Aizen betrayed the Soul Society Shuuhei had began intense training for his bankai, despite his hatred for his zanpakuto, because he felt he needed to get stronger so that he could properly lead his squad. It wasn't until the end of the war that he gained his bankai and due to the need to fill the empty positions he was allowed to take the spot of his squad's captain, despite not having gained complete mastery of his bankai. However, due to his seemingly non-stop training and heightened skill with the weapons, a year later he has mastered his bankai.
Inner World Appearance: His inner world is a vast black and white forest made of stone, one is able to stand on the tops of the trees. It's very monochrome, lacking truly any other colors. His inner world seems to follow a ying yang color scheme, representing his internal struggle between him and his zanpakuto(feelings of bloodlust).
Zanpakuto:Name: Kazeshini
Zanpakuto Spirit Appearance: The spirit of Kazeshini takes the form of a thin yet well-toned dark man with long black hair, resembling a shadow, with dark grey strips of cloth wrapping around his lower body, arms, neck, and shoulders with matching boots similar to a jesters. The red outline around his body is also often seen to flicker.
Zanpakuto Spirit Personality: As his appearance might suggest, Kazeshini is very violent, enjoying slashing up his opponents and being prone to rampages. It's theorized that Kazeshini is the manifestation of Shūhei's darker, more destructive feelings, formed from the stress of trying to suppress them. According to Shuuhei, Kazeshini loves to kill and once he finds a target, he will continue to hunt it until he kills it. However, he is shown to have a kinder side, as he took care of a little orphan baby when the baby's father is killed by a gang of hollow, untill he found a woman with whom he could leave the child. Shuuhei will often tease him about it, which only angers the zanpakuto.
Sealed Form: In its sealed form, Shuuhei's sword looks like a regular katana with an octangular tsuba, the hilt is wrapped in cobalt blue cloth and the tsuba is gold in color. He most commonly carries it on his left hip.
Shikai:Call Out Phrase: Reap
Shikai Appearance: When released, it takes the form of two Kusarigama-like weapons, each with two scythe blades, with one inverted, giving it the resemblance of a pinwheel. The blades are connected to a spiked rod tethered together by a long chain. While in Shikai form, Kazeshini can be swung by its chains in large circles, allowing the bladed portion to spin like a fan. The chains are extendible, giving Shuuhei great ranged ability. Kazeshini can also be used for entangling an opponent's sword, or other weapons; It can even immobilize opponents. Although he dislikes the shape of his weapon, he is extremely proficient in wielding them; He uses them as projectiles and controls them at range by moving its chains, making Kazeshini's paths unpredictable.
Ability: N/A
Techniques:
Kubikake (Neck-Hanging): A physical technique that Shuuhei can use by throwing the chain of Kazeshini around the neck of an opponent, from here he can pull the chain hanging the opponent strangling or ensnare them knocking them off balance and bringing them toward him.
Bankai:Name: Kagehane, Kazeshini. ( Shadow Bladed Wind Death )
Appearance: His Bankai takes the form of two sets of double bladed scythe blades with one blade on each set being inverted which give the blades the look of a pinwheel, they are the same size as the ones on his shikai and hover in the air beside him. He also gains two of the same kind of blades which are attached to long chains, each chain is wrapped around each of his arms stopping at just before his elbow and has a four foot slack length. Shuuhei's appearance also changes, black tinted red bandage wraps cover his arms length to help protect his skin from the strain of the chains on his arms, his uniform top becomes a long flowing black hooded cloak. The hood covers his head and shadows his face, giving him a much more menacing appearance; As though he's become the manifestation of fear itself.
Bankai Ability: N/A
Techniques:
Shuuhei can control the blades in the air using his reiatsu, for up to twenty feet away from his person before they fall to the ground and become useless. He can manipulate the blades on the chains in much the same way he did his shikai, he can add some slack to the chains and the slack comes from the chains around his arms. The blades which hover in the air he can use to defend from an enemy as well as attack, which ever the situation calls for.
Burēdo no Tatsumaki (Blade Tornado): Using his reiatsu Shuuhei can spin the hovering blades in a rapid motion in front of him which gives the blades the appearance of a tornado, the tornadoes are unable to move more than twenty feet away from his person.

The air was thick and tense, almost suffocating it was so heavy; Though given the situation this was understandable, somehow an enemy army had found their way into the Soul Society and had begun attacking the many frantic unseated officers, most of which were unsuspecting even though they were on guard for just this sort of thing, countless lives were ended in a manner of minutes; The body count must have been in the triple digits just from those few minutes of their assault, further proving the enemy was nothing to sneeze at. The thought of that much loss of life made his stomach churn in disgust, he felt sick just thinking about all those who were slaughtered. It was just a day before the attack that Head Captain Yamamoto had told all captains to prepare for war and it seemed as though they would be engaging the enemy far sooner than they had expected, a piercing alarm bellowed throughout the Seireitei to alert the captains, lieutenants and any other able bodied soldiers of the assault and they all sprung into action; All save for one Shuuhei Hisagi, though it was not of his own will, he was stopped from taking the final step outside his barracks when he felt the slender arms of another wrap round his waist and grip tightly. The figure had pulled him into a vice like embrace and placed her head upon his back, her right cheek kissing the cotton material of the uniform he donned as she nuzzled him gently. Shuuhei knew right away who it was, no one else he knew would try and keep him from battle, he sighed and placed his arms atop hers around his waist.
"Kizo..." He uttered gently, though his voice was soft one could tell it was distressed given how heavily his words were spoken. The tight grip the violet haired woman had on his form told him just how worried she was for his well being, knowing someone cared that much made him smile but also made his heart sink a little, he could not help but wonder what might become of her should something happen to him and that thought caused him far more pain than the wound any enemy could bestow upon him, for he knew how fragile this young woman was and there for his mind could only jump to the worst case scenario when it came to the possibilities of what all she would do. So, if only for her sake, he did not plan on loosing; He carried a burning resolve and swore that he would live to see another day, just so that he may be graced with her smile when he woke next to her in bed, with the early morning sun shining through the window making her skin glisten as if tiny diamonds made up the many flakes of skin covering her body. He needed this reason to fight, to survive, not just in this moment but for the rest of his life, he needed something to look forward to past all the monotony and bloodshed that came with his job. Being a man who despised fighting and loathed violence with a passion, seeing almost nothing but on a daily basis was disturbing, but this woman's embrace was all it took to make the harshness of his world vanish and he planned on going back to that world within her arms once all this was over.
"....Don't go..." Kizomaru whispered, yet her words could still be heard to him. Her own tone sounded distressed, carrying a great amount of fear in the words she spoke; She was genuinely terrified of loosing the only man whom she ever loved, the only person who truly made her feel whole and chased away the cold depression she was known to succumb to from time to time. Granted she had her younger sister but this was far different in comparison, the love she had for him was vastly different than what she had for her sibling, both deep and true but with him she had no worries about..Well anything really, she could pretend chaos and destruction did not exist, like her traumatic past did not exist; The world she found within his embrace was tranquil and warm, with him there was never a day where the sun did not shine. Should she loose that world she would become broken, her heart would no longer be able to beat if she were never able to wake up to his face again. The fear she harbored for his life was only intensified by the fact these intruders had already taken one of their own, the first division lieutenant's funeral scene still fresh in her mind, despite not knowing the man personally his death still affected the whole of the Gotei Thirteen though most heavily the Head Captain. With such a grave image in her mind it was hard not to worry, worry about who they might have to bury next, would she have to bury her sister? Even though the young woman was not on the front lines, there was still the chance she could be harmed.
She feared for everyone, her captain and lieutenant and even people she did not know as well, but most of all she feared for Shuuhei. She did not want him to be next, she did not wish to attend his funeral. She was supposed to be at the Squad Six barracks, standing guard there to defend them in the absence of both her captain and lieutenant, but sitting there had become too much for her. Was she expected to sit there and do nothing but worry while everyone else took up the front lines and risked their lives? How come most all of the other officers got to take part, save for what few who were in her situation, but her? She had no clue why she had been told to stand guard of the barracks but sitting there and doing nothing was too nerve wracking, especially considering the fact the man she loved was about to march off to battle. So, she had turned to the next seat below both her and her sister that just so happened to be on her guard team, and told him to take her place as she had something important which had to be done now, then she vanished using her shunpo and now was here; Embracing the man before her with all the strength she could muster without breaking him herself, almost as if she were trying to use her strength to prevent him from leaving even though she knew he was stronger in comparison.
